List of Services

Adagio Namesm Creation
By spending at least one full month on your name development, we are able to provide the breadth and depth necessary to create innovative and appropriate brands. We typically create more than 1,000 ideas before forwarding 50 names that meet your criteria. If the first 50 names do not meet your needs, an additional 25 names are presented at no additional cost. Since we devote 4-6 weeks in this effort, our creative juices have the opportunity to properly resonate.

Staccato Namesm Creation
Our group embarks upon your project at an accelerated speed so that your name is ready in 7 working days. This is a singular effort to meet your needs; we present a list of not less than 25 names. Additional names, if necessary, can be proposed at an additional cost.

Domain Name Availability Chart
Since the dot-com availability is often a key consideration in your naming decision, we investigate the status of all recommended names concurrent with our naming efforts. We identify the domain name holder, inform you if the site is live, and provide our recommendation as to whether the name can be purchased. Given today's rampant cybersquatting, our expertise helps you assess the likelihood and cost of purchasing a domain. Of course, the sale is not included in this service, but can be proposed separately.

The Nuancing® Group presents your company with a list of names chosen to meet the agreed-upon criteria. For each name, linguistic interpretation or foreign language derivation is also highlighted. We then recommend the top 5 candidates we believe you should pursue.

Launch Meeting
The Nuancing® Group launches the project by holding an interactive meeting with all of your key players. Using a variety of creative techniques, we have the group address such vital issues as your brand's personality and attributes, marketplace strengths and weaknesses, customer perceptions, and naming criteria. These voices are the chorus of your business, enabling us to understand your goals, identify various selling propositions, and ascertain the competitive landscape.

Federal & State Trademark Screening
Have you ever screamed with excitement about a new name only to discover that someone else owns the trademark? We know that belatedly discovering a trademark problem in the naming process sets you up for an irrevocable fall—the emotional energy can never be recaptured. That is why we screen our recommended names before we present them to you. Working in conjunction with one of the top intellectual property law firms, we report any federal and state trademark infringement issues along with your Name Presentation. After 2-8 final candidates have been selected, a more in-depth review should be conducted by our law firm (at an additional cost) or by yours. It is essential, however, that the final selections are screened and approved by your intellectual property counsel before being deployed.

Full Team Partner
Throughout the naming process, The Nuancing® Group is available for strategy meetings, phone conversations, and branding issues needing our input. We believe that frequent communication leads to true harmony and the development of a brand that succeeds.

Foreign Language Review
The Nuancing® Group recognizes that language is culture and culture is nuance. We therefore employ a Foreign Language Advisory Board, comprised of native speakers and PhDs, to preliminarily review our recommendations in 6 key languages: English, Spanish, Italian, French, German, and Russian. The Board screens for actual and sound-alike interpretations, negative expressions, colloquialisms, and sexual connotations. Screenings in additional languages may also be requested. These efforts enable us to avoid creating such unfortunate brands as "evite.com," an RSVP invitation site, whose name literally translates as "abandon or shun" in both French and Spanish.

Domain Name Negotiation & Acquisition
It is not uncommon to discover that even if a name is available for trademark, it is not available for the domain dot-com registration. The Nuancing® Group acts as your undisclosed agent to secure the address for the lowest possible cost. Our clandestine efforts have successfully resulted in many acquisitions in the $1000-$5000 range.

Competitive Review and Analysis
Recognizing your niche among competitors is an essential element in establishing your brand. What are the subtle differences that set you apart in the marketplace? The Nuancing® Group researches, assesses, and analyzes all data regarding your service, competitors, the industry, and potential customers. We create, in essence, a finely scripted composition that helps position your product successfully and capture rave reviews.

Qualitative Research
We recommend utilizing qualitative research on our 2-8 final name candidates. Since the dynamics of focus groups prevent accurate results, we conduct 1-on-1 interviews with at least 25 of your current or potential customers. We develop the testing strategy, screening questionnaire, discussion guide, geographic balance, and proposed honorarium for participants. This research will affirm our naming recommendations and uncover any hidden problems or additional issues.

Upon completion of our research, you receive an Executive Report summarizing the interviews, highlighting any issues, and recommending all names that have truly passed the "acid test."

Tagline Creation
Once your name has been selected, we create a tagline. But, what is a tagline? It is a phrase that follows a brand name; it should articulate the selling position and be such a natural outgrowth of the product that the two become inextricably linked. Good examples include Target's "Expect More, Pay Less" and Ernst & Young's "From Thought to Finish." We provide you with a minimum of 15 alternatives.
